Sarah Cohen Eldar was born in January 1920. Originally from Ruschuk and Sofia.

Sarah's mother was a cousin of the Abraham brothers (Moritz, Haim, Isak and Mony).

Starting at the end of 1939, she studied at the Nahalal Agricultural School, and begining in 1942 at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She studied biology.

While a student at Nahalal and at the Hebrew University, she used to visit Haim and Miriam Abraham in Haifa during the High Holidays or for vacations. Her recollections have been a crucial source of information regarding the Abraham family.

She married Tomi (Thomas) Eldar, from Czechoslovakia, and has a daughter, Iris, and a son, Roni.
